Product Obsolescence Notification: 1U 50 Port Voice Patch Panel 2 Pair – Australia/India/Poland

This notification is to inform you of the end of life of the 50 Port 2 Pair voice patch panel PID-00145. The product will be replaced by a new design.

The change of design will be as follows:

• The finish of the panel will change from graphite gray to black.
• The Molex brand will be silk screened on the left of the panel.
• The rear cable management tray will be a different design but provide the same robust cable support as the current version.
• The IDC punch down block will change from 110 IDC to an LSA-style IDC punch down. 
• The panel will be compatible with the LSA 2A termination tool.
• Front port numbering will be silk-screened. The write-on label will no longer be featured.
• The part number will change from PID-00145 to PID-00145-04.

As with the current design, the redesigned version of this panel supports voice transmission over 2 pairs (3,6, and 4,5) and can be terminated with standard data cable or multipair voice cable (25 Pair). There is no change to fit, form, function, or pricing of the redesigned version of this panel. 

The main difference between the current and the replacement panel is the change of Insulation Displacement Contact (IDC) style from a 110 style to a LSA style requiring termination with a commonly available LSA 2A (commonly known as a Krone© tool) termination tool.  Please note that a 110 tool cannot be used on this IDC as it risks damaging the IDC.

Date of change: As stocks are consumed. While Molex will manage the stock change-over to avoid mixing current and new designs in the same shipment to customers as much as possible, there is a risk of this occurring, and we apologize in the event of this.
